The Danish Town of Solvang: Photo Diary

What We Saw:

For those of you who have never been, Solvang is a cute town in Southern California that plays off of the country Denmark and incorporates the old styles of that country. Being part Danish, I just loved the idea of visiting Denmark without actually leaving the country (I hope to eventually though, of course).

My nana, boyfriend, and I stayed at the Hamlet Inn and guys, this motel was the cutest, trendiest little place I have ever stayed at. It was so simple and cute. I really recommend.

While walking around there were so many cute shops, bakeries, and great spots to take photos. I would recommend going to the bakeries because everything in there looked decadent. Walking around and taking photos was my favorite part and with all the flowers, trees, and beautiful architecture, it was very easy to do.

What We Ate:

Oh my gosh, the Danish know how to do it. Danish food is the perfect comfort food that you can just keep eating. Of course, had to try out their beer as well. Look at Alex’s compared to mine. I obviously like the lightest it can get, haha and the size of Alex’s would have been disastrous for me.

By far, my favorite waffle I have ever eaten was at Paula’s Pancake House. This waffle was the perfect combination of vanilla creamy goodness. With the homemade whip cream.. more, please!

What I Wore:

If I could wear one thing for the rest of my life it might just be an outfit like this. This is probably one of the most comfortable, simple, and fashionable outfits I own. I love the long black dress, with some slip on’s, and a jean jacket. The perfect combination and you are ready to go explore.

Hi… Solvang with my grandchildren was the most.. Of course with the photos Taylor has on her Blog are the best of Solvang… I watched her and Alex take all these photos with their fun and professional flair…. The walking around the Danish town was very easy for me, (my age 82) the shop’s were very easy to walk around.. Comfortable shoes are a must… The town is very enjoyable for any age… The sweets, could not get enough.. Please try the Train for travel, like Taylor says, it is comfortable and fun… So long, Angela!!!
